  4. Creating new habits Takes 21 days for a habit to become something you do without constantly thinking about it If you fall off, begin again It may take several tries

Change your environment • Examine your home and car…… • Lighters or smell of smoke • Throw away unhealthy food & beverages • Put fruit in a bowl where you will see it • Move healthy items to front of refrigerator • Drapes that block light in the bedroom • Limit noise in the bedroom • Adjust length of seat belt/ get padding for it • Put your sneakers by the door to remember to walk • Place hand weights next to the TV

Situations Change Set your alarm clock back 5 minutes Make a healthy snacks to share Take a walk while you visit Play golf or mini golf together Limit time at family gatherings Examine when • Forget seat belt when late • Eat unhealthy when entertaining • Don’t exercise when friends want to get together • Stressed when at family gatherings
