Nb pei research grid1

NB/PEI Research Grid

  • The NB/PEI Research Grid is a cooperative effort to provide a highly reliable research network backbone to Atlantic Canada, and to significantly upgrade and expand the capacity for regional research and education in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

  • The initiative is in direct response to the need institutions of higher education, research facilities and private companies in the region have to increase bandwidth so they can collaborate, and participate in research and innovation projects regionally, nationally and globally.

  • ECN: 3 x 1Gb rings for a little more than the price of the existing, overloaded 30Mb network.

  • 1,000,000 x faster than the original 1970 network.
