  9. Project Goals continued… • To provide safe pedestrian access across and along the corridor as best possible • To improve the streetscape of Hanley Road • To improve vehicular access to the corridor

  10. Hanley Road Background

  11. Traffic Analysis - Existing Conditions North Area South Area

  12. Initial Alternatives Developed • I-64/Eager/Dale Area • N1 - Geometric Improvements I • N2 - Geometric Improvements II • N3 - Tunnel to WB Eager • N4 - Tunnel between Eager/Hanley • N5 - Revised Geometric Improvements • N6 - Realign Eager and Dale • N7 - Combination of N3 and N5 • N8 - Relocate Eager under Hanley, connect Eager to Dale

  15. Intersection LOS (South Area)

  16. Intersection LOS (North Area) * Note that significant improvement to the WB off-ramp was not practical prior to I-64 improvements..

  17. Preferred Concept – North Total Cost: $22 M

  18. Preferred Concept – South Total Cost: $32 M

  19. Improvement Costs: • Design: $3.4 million (that will be offset by using in-house forces) • R/W: $13 million—estimate • Construction: $38 million Total: $54 million
