Following the General Assembly mandate: The Global Report on Trafficking in Persons 2012 will focus on patterns and flows of trafficking in persons at the national, regional and international levels … and share best practices and lessons learned from various initiatives and mechanisms.(Para 60, A/RES/64/293 - United Nations Global Plan of Action against Trafficking in Persons)

  3. Member States requested: • To report biennially, starting in 2012, …, in a balanced, reliable and comprehensive manner, in close cooperation and collaboration with Member States... (Para 60, A/RES/64/293) • The request was reiterated in resolution E/CN.15/2011/L.13/Rev.1 adopted by the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in 2011
