  2. Why Do I Need One? • EMALL is ASCL or CAC Access only • DTS • AKO • JUMS/JCIMS might be eventually • These are not going away

  3. How Do I Get One? • Send me an email and I order it from NETCOM Registration Authority • DD Form 2842 and have it notarized • This replaces a face to face meeting • I send your card by receipt mail to army.ra@us.army.mil • You send an email to the Registration Authority and they send your PIN

  4. What Do I Do Next? • Get a card reader • Install ActivClient and the card reader software • From the portal • Google • Make “Certificates Available to Windows” through the ActivClient application • Register it on AKO

  5. How To Check Your Card • Open ActivClient • Click Card Info • Click on My Certificates

  6. Troubleshooting • Check card information • Expiration • Blank Certificate? • Card Reader Software and ActivClient • Reinstall • Make certificate available to Windows • Unlock code • After 3 unsuccessful login attempts

  7. HELP • Read instructions • ASCL User Guide • Instructions for using ASCL • NEVER ever ever select “reset” • NETCOM help desk: 703-545-2000 • Call Barry

  8. Challenges • The RA keeps running out of card stock • The RA goes into radio listening silence • There is no phone number that anyone will answer • No one on this staff has had any training • They won’t give me the PIN numbers • All of the above
