Summary • Health insurance cover is of utmost necessity for meeting the expenses of modern healthcare and also due to increase in lifestyle diseases and accidents. • Insurance is the sharing of risks among a group of people exposed to common risk. • When a person has a health policy he has hope.

Summary cont… • In this sector the PSUs are performing better than the private sector companies. • Health insurance policies vary in their area of disease and adverse event coverage in different age groups. • So while purchasing a policy one should search for the most suitable policy for him. • One may go for cashless or reimbursement or self administered portfolio reimbursements according to their own convenience . • TPAs do a good job in helping clients.

Summary cont… • Government is promoting health insurance through RashtriyaSurakshaBimaYojna (RSBY) & PSUs in insurance sector take initiatives in making a Preferred provider Network( a network of hospitals)to control prices & standardize services. • Future health insurance policies will focus on preventive & wellness care ,corporate health check up plans. • Bringing majority of people under insurance protection is required.
