Top tip number 1 Add a description to your Close Call report: “Gate broken, the siding pin that holds back the gates are missing on one and bent so it won't work, this results in the gates not being able to held back when open. This presents a hazard when using the gates with striking vehicles or staff. The gate is located at the tank house access.” Good description with clear explanation “Rotten floor panel. needs replacing. put temp repair down by placing ply wood over it. ECM 1 4m73ch in wood green relay room.” Good description with clear explanation and location information Adding additional location details in the description field e.g. On Track, Off Track, ELR, DU info helps the Close Call team to locate the Close Call faster and easier

  3. Top tip number 2 Add a good photo to your Close Call report: Photos with explanations and annotations of the close call help the centre understand what has happened. Ensure you also show how the close call has been fixed- if at all. Altogether this will mean the right people are called to fix the close call Photos should be clear with descriptions and annotations. You are acting as the eyes of the Close Call centre. The more information you can provide the better!

  4. Top tip number 3 Add location and GPS coordinates: The app should automatically provide GPS coordinates. If it doesn’t please make sure you add it by ensuring your Location settings are turned on your iDevice or by using the Where Am I? app. If this doesn’t work ELR, DU information will also help. Adding your location will ensure the site of the Close Call is known and can be fixed quickly and efficiently.
