Suffolk Climate Change Partnership • The Suffolk Climate Change Partnership provides Community groups and non profit organisations across the county with free advice on a range of climate change and energy related issues • Suffolk Climate Action Plan 2 recently launched • Groundwork have been delivering environmental • business support services to businesses in Suffolk for the SCCP since 2008

Suffolk Carbon Charter • Suffolk Carbon Charter is a unique and innovative scheme to recognise carbon reduction measures in Suffolk's small and medium businesses • Businesses with fewer than 250 FTEs (Full Time Equivalent staff) • Comprised of 3 levels; Bronze, Silver and Gold • The Charter is administered by Groundwork East of England on behalf of the Environment Agency and Suffolk County Council  • The Charter was developed (and piloted) as part of ANSWER - a ERDF project identifying and overcoming obstacles to energy reduction in businesses and communities.

Suffolk Carbon Charter • The price for a Charter Assessment is £550 (+VAT) • Cost covers everything from the onsite audit of the business to support in meeting the requirements for accreditation, through to the assessment and accreditation process • Over 75 businesses in Suffolk currently have the Suffolk Carbon Charter accreditation • East of England Co-operative have become a Pathfinder Partner • Currently piloting the Norfolk Carbon Charter

  7. Support Services in Suffolk • Suffolk Environmental Business Advisor Service • Support and Advice for Businesses around Renewable Energy (SABRE)

Suffolk Environmental Business Advisor Service • Free expert environmental advice to Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) • On site comprehensive assessment • Energy Report and Action Plan • Heating systems, building fabric, lighting and electrical equipment, waste, water, transport and renewable energy • To date the service is identifying, on average, savings of over £5,400 and 26 tonnes of CO2(e) per SME.

SABRE • Support and Advice for Businesses around Renewable Energy (SABRE) • Part financed ERDF programme offering free renewable energy feasibility studies for SMEs across Suffolk • 120 studies to be carried out over 3 years • Everyone who takes part in the project will receive: - A free independent and impartial Renewable Energy Feasibility Review - Further free support and advice on renewable energy
