Homework for next class • Read: (NOTE: We now need Volume 2 of the Norton A.) • Oliver Goldsmith (pp. 2877): “The Deserted Village” (pp. 2877-86); “The Romantic Period” (pp. 1-16); • Charlotte Smith (p. 39): “Written in the Churchyard” (p. 41), “On Being Cautioned” (pp. 41-42), “The Sea View” (p. 42) • Do a Reading Response, choose one on either Goldsmith or Smith. • Quiz next class on Johnson: Study especially 2664-66, and today’s PowerPoint presentation on Johnson (posted under 18th C links) • Presentation next class: • Lyndsey Corral: Charlotte Turner Smith
