  4. Thesis Statement You are listing document groupings from essay outline. Sample Thesis: Thanks to their military prowess, policies on expansion and certain aspects of their culture, the Mongols were able to assert their authority over a large territory in a remarkably short period of time. Organized and supplied with ample weaponry, the Central Asia group’s soldiers could utilize their distinctive tactics with deadly results. In addition, while their ideas regarding conquest eased the capture of target communities, their social and religious disposition provided a stable and spiritual basis for effective warfare. These factors soon led to Mongol domination over lands ranging from East Asia, Eastern and Western Europe and the Middle East.

  8. DOCUMENT ANALYSIS • Do the other sources collaborate the information? • Which documents says something different? Why? • Examine the dates. Do you see any changes over time or cause and effect relationships?
