  16. Who are we training? DEMPS volunteers • +8,600 volunteers who are current VHA employees • Various occupations: physicians, security, nursing, social workers… • Drawn from throughout US, Puerto Rico, Guam, and Philippines

What does the VA Gain • Each time we travel for training, the cost estimate is $1750 per trainee. • Each time we travel for training, we lose 40 hours of Veterans care per trainee. • Each time an individual trains on the VLE we save $1750 in travel costs. • Each time an individual trains on the VLE we save 38 hours of care for Veterans. Each scenario requires 8-12 participants
