Online Calibration (Raphaelle) • PEDESTAL runs for noise and pad status • Where used? • During reconstruction in the clusterizer • For MC data to be as close as possible to real data • Current issues: • Ongoing changes due to modified LDC setup for TRD • Difficulties in sending data to AMORE • Nevertheless a noise picture of newly installed sectors is already available

Offline Pass0 Calibration (Raphaelle, Julian) • Calibration of gain, drift velocity and time-offset • Current issues: • Thanks to Peter and Jacek: bug fixed in TRD calibration code • Calibration of chamber status: tested in Pb+Pb but not yet activated for pass0 • Exclude chambers w/o data or too low gain or drift velocity • Chamber status already updated in OCDB for existing data • On the way: • Determine gain factors independent of drift velocity • Energy corrected by track angle (as already introduced for PID)

  7. Other Calibrations (Raphaelle) • Done offline and then submitted to OCDB • Alignment parameters • Reference distributions for PID (based on V0 analysis) • Follow the discussion on calibration strategy • Answers on TWiki page provided • Participation in ESDfix requested (PID resp. calibration) • Current issue: • As soon as the minimum bias trigger strings for next pp data taking are known we have to check/update the pass0 macro (AliTRDcalib.C) for 2011

Calibration Monitoring • PWG1 trains • Uniformity of deposited energy over chambers • Average pulse height in time bin direction • histograms on http://www-alice.gsi.de/trd/beam10/ • Ongoing improvements: • Mean and sigma of deposited energy • Better monitoring of the OCDB content • Residuals to check alignment • More advanced analysis • Mean and sigma of 2 GeV/c pions identified via V0s as a function of run number • Identified electrons/event with TOF+TRD(+TPC) as a function of run number

  9. TRD – TOF Matching Problem • Savannah entry #75401 • TRD threshold was raised to 100 GeV/c • Low and high flux reco params modified • Final fix is in v4-20-Rev-16, being tested (Alexandru) • threshold lowered to 0.2 GeV/c! TRD starts updating ESD tracks

  14. Changes in PID Method (Markus, Alexandru) • 1D likelihoods from pp V0 analysis • Charge calculation: • old : dEdx (radial dependence) • now : Q (total charge)

Savannah: Open Entries • #66092: Remove gstpar calls and put parameters in galice.cuts • galice.cuts need extension to include also STRA • Modifications to galice.cuts prepared (see Savannah entry) and need to be submitted before final change of TRD code • #66144: Very large memory allocation in AliTRDQADataMakerRec::InitRecPoints() • Right now needed for chamber-by-chamber analysis • Could be moved to sector-by-sector analysis, if needed. • If not, the entry should be closed

Savannah: Open Entries • #66145: Very large memory allocation in TRD • Smaller object introduced (Frederick): AliTRDCalDCSFEEv2 • Memory reduction ~ 40% (29MB → 11MB) • Backward compatibility tested • Being ported to release and ready to be closed • #68107: Steep efficiency drop for SA tracker after rev 41167 • Needs the error parameterization to be finalized • Ongoing work (Alexandru)

Savannah: Open Entries • #78752: TRD request for porting to release • New TRD PID and tracking code • Almost done • #78844: Request to port TRD DCS calibration code to Release • Porting request following entry #66145: Very large memory allocation in TRD • #79100: LHC10h reconstruction macro: alignment data and "friends” TRD needs friends for • detailed studies of TRD response for high-pt tracks • calibrations requiring high-statistics (pad response function, error param.) • improving the run-by-run calibration of runs for which the calibration procedure failed for some reason • QA via PWG1 train

  21. Coverity Defects • All defects in TRD directory finally removed
