  2. National Endowment for the Arts • Most grant awards range from $10,000 to $100,000 • All grants require a 1:1 match • No support for professional training or for work toward academic degrees. © 2003 AASCU

  3. NEA Grant Programs Grants for Arts Projects* provides assistance to organizations (including IHEs) for projects in: Dance; Design; Folk & Traditional Arts; Literature; Local Arts Agencies; Media Arts; Multidisciplinary; Museums; Music; Theater; Visual Arts © 2003 AASCU

NEA (ctd) • Grants for Arts Projects 1) Access to Artistic Excellence (to foster and preserve artistic excellence in the arts and provide access to the arts for all Americans); 2) Challenge America Fast-Track Review Grants($10,000 awards for small and mid-sized organizations that extend the reach of the arts to underserved populations); 3) Learning in the Arts for Children & Youth (IHEs are eligible if their focus is directly on children & youth). • Folk & Traditional Arts Infrastructure Initiative (Aims to preserve our nation’s diverse cultural heritage by strengthening the state/regional heritage of folk & trad. NEA: Sample Projects • Opportunities for artists(Commissions, residencies, workshops, and/or collaborations); • Public presentation/publication of artistically talented works of all cultures and periods (literature projects must focus on contemporary writers); • Documentation, recording, preservation, conservation of highly significant works of art, artifacts, built/designed elements, collections or cultural traditions/practices; • Development of new or exiting technology to improve the operations of arts organizations (or to enhance the experience of audience members with special needs); and • Employing the arts to strengthen communities © 2003 AASCU
