The curricular focus areas in our projects include: reading, writing, oral expression, reflection and student agency (in the electronic portfolio context). The technology resources we will employ are:

    4. 07 July 2004 Penumbra Incorporated Valerie’ s Action Research Project Problem: Kindergarteners often have difficulty expressing their thoughts in an organized manner. My Focus Question: How can we best introduce children to technology programs that will enhance their oral and written expression through pictures?

    5. 07 July 2004 Penumbra Incorporated Val has a Quiz for you… What experiences do you have with using the programs Kidspiration and Kidpix? Affordances? Constraints? What other programs do you know about that will help the young child with organizational skills to improve oral and written communication?

    6. 07 July 2004 Penumbra Incorporated Val’s Quiz continued… What other instructional activities could be used to help the students become better communicators? How would you go about evaluating the results of this project?

Other factors: teacher/community collaboration Background: Last year’s PPT efolios (4th-6th)
