  1. Speech-Language LetterThinking, Speaking and Listening with Mrs. JacksonSeptember 2013 Welcome back! The 2013-2014 school year has begun and we have many exciting things happening in speech and language. I will be providing speech and language services in a variety of ways throughout this school year both in the classroom and out of the classroom. We will be using the iPad, storybooks, classroom materials/themes, literacy/ math vocabulary and introducing homework rings. Speech-Language Tip Of The Month • Take time every evening and ask your child what they learned, who the met and something fun they did each day. • This quick interaction will encourage your child to use language, speech sounds and increase communication skills. Great Books to READ in September: *Apple Picking Time by: Michele B. Slawson • *Back to School, Mallory by: Laurie B. Friedman • *It’s Back to School We Go; First Day Stories • From Around the World by: Ellen Jackson This Month We Are…. • Reviewing our speech and language GOALS • Adding our goals to the “Speech is Sweet” wall • Talking about our summer • Setting up the therapy schedule As always, if you have concerns with your child’s speech and language skills please contact me or your teacher and we can take the first steps in supporting you and your family.
