Introduction • Google Maps is quick and easy application for people who want to view maps, get driving directions, or use other functions, such as API and street view through their laptops, desktops, or cell phones. • This application is often used when people want to find directions from one place to another place before they depart or when people want to know the general directions.

  4. Application Programming Interface • The Application Programming Interface, API, is a function created for users so that they may include videos or pictures for their location.

  5. Application Programming Interface • To start this task the Google account holder must log into Google and find a location on the map and click “my maps”. • After that is done the user must then select the “create a new map” link.

  6. Application Programming Interface • After you have chosen your map, you must create a name. During this process the user can also add a description or make the map public or private • The user can continue to add special features including a placemark.

  7. Application Programming Interface • The use of a placemark is to embed videos, images, and links. You can add the placemark by dragging the icon to the desired location and a text box will pop up allowing users to input information • Another function of the placemark is to add a link. Using the formatting bar, you can change the text and create links. To add the link you must highlight the text, click the link icon located within the text box, and type the needed address in the pop up window. • Finally the user clicks “OK” to allow the words to become a link.
