  4. RECRUITMENT • Target for recruitment = 35 • 5 Recruits • 1 Re-Join • 3 Re-Trades • 8 Re-Allocations • 7 Transfers • Total 24 (16% Below target)

  5. RLC MANPOWER FIGURES • Pte - Overmanned by 21 (24%) • LCpl – Overmanned by 4 (7%)

  6. LIABILITY FOR PTE/LCPL • Beneficial to increase liability: • Supervisory capacity • Promotes an element of competition • Less time away from home • Compensate for the increase in soldiers signing off

  7. RLC MANPOWER FIGURES • Cpl – Undermanned by 16 (20%) • Sgt – Undermanned by 21 (33%)

  14. CONCLUSION • Many possible solutions • Trade relies on soldiers transferring into the trade • Operational tempo is unlikely to decrease • Short term solutions to long term issues
