  4. Impact factor Der Impact Factor einer Fachzeitschrift soll messen, wie oft andere Zeitschriften einen Artikel aus ihr in Relation zur Gesamtzahl der dort veröffentlichten Artikel zitieren. Je höher der Impact Factor, desto angesehener ist eine Fachzeitschrift. Zahl der Zitate im Bezugsjahr auf die Artikel der vergangenen zwei Jahre IF = Zahl der Artikel in den vergangenen zwei Jahren

  10. Reichen Sie ein Meist elektronisch über die homepage des Journals arXiv Wenn Sie wollen, können Sie den Artikel jetzt (oder erst nachdem er angenommen wurde) auf das arXiv stellen

  12. Wie werden Referees ausgewählt ? Editoren sind Experten und kennen ihre Referees(meist nur in den europäischen Journalen, EPJ, EPL, NJP, …) Editor sieht in Datenbank nach - PACS (Physics Astronomy Classification Scheme) - Zitate in Arbeit Sie können (sollen) mögliche Referees selbst nennen (oder auch solche, die Sie nicht haben wollen)

  13. Artikel wird an Referees gesandt Referees antworten of spät oder im schlimmsten Fall gar nicht

  15. Wie soll man auf Referee - reports reagieren ? Guter Bericht: Freuen Sie sich! Sie haben den Erfolg verdient! Schlechter bzw. mittelmäßiger Bericht: Schlafen Sie darüber! Gemeinsames Schimpfen über den Referee hebt die Stimmung! Wenn Sie glauben, dass Sie den Referee überzeugen können: Gehen Sie auf seine bzw. ihre Einwände ein! Wenn Sie glauben, dass der Referee voreingenommen ist: Kämpfen Sie gegen ihn bzw. sie !

  16. Wie erfolgreich sind Entgegnungen ? Wenn Sie glauben, dass Sie gute Argumente haben, versuchen Sie es. Ein oder zwei schlechte bzw. mittelmäßige Berichte hängen dem Artikelnach (die nächsten Referees bekommen die früheren Reports). Überlegen Sie ernsthaft, ob sie die Arbeit transferieren, anderswo einreichen oder grundlegend überarbeiten. Bevor ich mein erster PRL publiziert habe, wurden ca. 8 andere Arbeiten von PRL abgelehnt. Üben Sie sich in Geduld!

Unfortunately as it stands nowit is only a smart sketch mostly based on already published resultsi.e., STIRAP gates, bi-excitonic shifts, ...I believe this work warrants publication in a more specialized journale.g., PRB, once the authors will have seriously, i.e., quantitativelyaddressed the points below. What are the decoherence sources? What are realistic values for gate operations? The authors mention tens of picoseconds, one has to be more specific. What are realistic physical parameters? ... General remark: The fact that you aim at writing a PRL does not mean you have to eliminate all details the idea has to be backed up by serious calculation which should be well described (without the technicalities of course). Please note that the whole paper does not contain one single Hamiltonian! ...

  18. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Report of Referee D ------------------------------------------------------------- After reading the manuscript and the previous referees reports as wellas the authors responses, I would agree with the Referee A and I wouldrecommend the paper for publication in PRL. It is a clearly written paper, the topic is hot. I think that the authors have given an adequateresponse to the criticism of the Referee B. I agree with Referee C that many things still have to be specified, but, to tell the truth, if allthis accomplished, this paper should be submitted not to PRL, but to theNobel price committee directly (for the working model of quantumcomputer). I think that the paper meets all the criteria of the broadinterest, it will definitely stimulate new research in this importantfield, and it deserves a publication in Phys. Rev. Lett.
