  3. What are the parts of the digestive system? • Mouth – Food broken down by chewing and chemical action of saliva. • Salivary Glands - Saliva contains enzymes that break down carbohydrates into smaller molecules. • Esophagus - The esophagus is a long tube that uses rhythmic, wave-like muscle movements (called peristalsis) to force food from the throat into the stomach. • Stomach - Food in the stomach is partly digested and mixed with stomach acids • Liver - Makes bile which breaks down fats and some blood proteins. Helps the small intestine in digestion. • Gall Bladder - It stores and releases bile into the small intestine. • Pancreas - Enzymes from the pancreas help in the digestion of carbohydrates, fats and proteins in the small intestine. • Small Intestine – bile, pancreatic enzymes, and other digestive enzymes produced by the inner wall of the small intestine help in the breakdown of food. Most food is absorbed here. • Large Intestine - The large intestine is responsible for absorption of water and excretion of solid waste material. • Rectum – Feces are stored here. • Anus – Where feces exits the body.

  4. Pick one of the following systems to talk about. • We chose the Excretory system – • The Main part of the excretory system is to remove wastes from the Body. • Parts in the excretory system • Kidney – Cleans the blood of waste products. Waste is passed out your body in urine. • Ureter – Takes urine from the kidney to the bladder. • Bladder – Stores urine until it is passed out the body in urine. • Urethra – Urine passes from the bladder to the urethra on the way out of the body.

  5. Explain how multi cellular organisms are • - cells make up tissues • Tissues make up organs • Organs make up our system • Systems make up an organism • Advantages of being a multicellular organism. • - One example Is Multicellular organisms Have 7 Specialized cells making them able to do a lot more than unicellular organisms They also Have way more cells then a unicellular organism.

  6. What are the main components of blood and their function? • Red blood cells: Are Responsible For moving the oxygen's to the body. • White blood cells: kill all bacteria and germs and Helps prevent diseases. • Platelets: blood clotting cells make the scab when ever you get a cut • Plasma: brings nourishment to cells and removes waste from the other cells

  7. Choose 3 systems of the body and then name and describe at least two common disorders of that system. Be sure to explain how doctors think the disorders are caused • Respiratory system.- • lung cancers: Lung Cancers are mainly caused by smoking. • Emphysema: Can occur when repeated breathing in of fumes and other things that irritate and damage the lungs and airways. • Digestive system.- • Cancers: Cancers are started in your tissues in your stomach and cancers can form everywhere. • Ulcers: stress, spicy foods, and alcohol caused most ulcers. • Circulatory System. – • High Blood Pressure: High blood pressure is caused By Having a High intake of salts and Sugars. • Strokes – Strokes can occur when your brain doesn't get enough oxygen,

  8. With those same three body systems from above, now explain what we can do to keep those systems healthy • Respiratory - surround yourself in clean healthy air, don't smoke or try not to be around smoking. • Digestive - eating healthy will help stop cancers and other diseases, also eating a lot of proteins help muscle growth. fat is an also an essential in keeping our organs cushioned and give us energy. • Circulatory – To Stop a Stroke or High blood pressure you Cant Eat much foods containing high salts And other sugars.

  9. How is blood the transportation System for the body. • - Blood moves the nutrients around the body. Blood also helps organize the cells in your body Blood - Blood is fluid that all organisms have and that delivers necessary substances such as nutrients and oxygen to the cells and transports waste products away from those same cells.
