A Few Goals for 2012-2013 Increase the visibility of faculty, students and alumni through strategic, targeted program development and resource allocations while also addressing the obstacles challenging the continued growth of the A&S -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Support and provide leadership for departments to accomplish their goals in the areas of teaching, research and service Collaborate across campus to create a new strategy for big data/analytics and cybersecurity Create 3 external department reviews Implement portions of the Global Strategy

Use of Resources – Supporting Research • Grant Advisors and Facilitators • Experts on NSF (DUE, HRD, SBE and ENG), NIH, DOE funding opportunities and grant writing were brought to campus • Over 80 Faculty members have participated in programing and one-on-one meetings • Seed funds to jump start a research program • Approximately 5 Faculty members have been supported • Support to position current research in media and industry • Assistments, Learning Sciences, Nanoscience and Cybersecurity • Faculty Travel to meet with disciplinary leaders, program officers, or collaborators in the US or abroad • Approximately 12 Faculty members have been supported • Support teaching excellence through residential summer workshops - 4 Faculty

Building Relationships • Global Women’s Leadership Forum • International Scholar-in-Residence • New International Visiting Scholar House Policy • WPI – UMMS Faculty Luncheon and shared program development • WPI- MCPHS Faculty Luncheon • Articulation Agreements • Area community colleges • Osteopathic Medicine Schools • MCPHS (PA, PT, Pharmacy, Optometry) • Joint Programs with Worcester Technical High School

  5. Student Programming • Summer Book Discussions with Scholars • Medical Scholars Term Meetings • Pre-Health Recommendation Letter Committee and Programs • Graduate Women Student Speaker Series (Kick-Off)
