State measures and private companies efforts mainly oriented at transport and infrastructure development and have not direct influence on the growth of logistics skills and competence The impact at logistics development of the most part of analyzed projects can be evaluated only after its ending and implementation Logistics competence is not a core priority in investment policy of majority of companies, especially SME and governance/ 15

  15. Conclusions and recommendations (2/3) For more effective logistics development measures (regional logistics potential) and better coordination of this process it is necessary to find new dialog forms between governance and business There is need in definite agreements ( may be as PPP) between regional Government and transport and logistics companies for logistics support Lack of stuff experience, especially for SME, limits dissemination and implementation of up today logistics methods and tools At once there is no education for some professions at high school, e.g. “ forwarding agent”. 16

  16. Conclusions and recommendations (3/3) Saint-Petersburg Government had begun to understand importance of logistics development (CTTP, Strategy etc) Decision making for transport and logistics infrastructure development must be introduced with necessity by cargo and passenger flows forecast Regarding high demand for services in transport and logistics sectors foreign companies have to take care of development of Russian language interfacesof ICT systems which support sales of foreign companies’ services 17
