  2. Cases for Support: What’s in a name? Case: • A set of arguments supporting a particular action or cause • An action or suit of law that provides sufficient grounds for action • Arguments, facts and reasons in support of or against something

  3. Cases for Support: What’s in a name? Products • A good idea, method, information, object or service created as a result of a process which serves a need or satisfies a want • A good or service which most closely meets the requirements of a particular service

  4. Cases for Support: What’s in a name? Asset: • A useful or valuable skill, quality or person • Something valuable that an entity owns, benefits from, or has use of, in generating income

  5. Turning Cases for Support into Assets • PR: Who would you like to reach? • Branding: What opportunities are there to increase awareness through partnership? • R&D: What seed funding needs are there which would develop the future of the project/activity? • Innovation: Is there something new you would like to pilot? • GiK/Pro bono: Are there any costs which we could take off the bottom line • Is there anything else? Visits? Lunch time talks?

  6. Developing Assets: Top Tips • Be selective: prioritise who to approach • Adapt CfS to include business benefit section • Brainstorm other areas which have commercial value • Sell! Develop target lists based on the asset
