  2. What is abstract? Abstract art is a very wide genre that contains many forms; essentially, any art that doesn’t try to realistically portray something. Abstract art uses Texture, color, shapes or space.

  3. You will create a purely sculptural form. Should be a freestanding piece that is intended to be viewed from all sides. Consider the Elements and Principles of Design. Your sculpture should have good balance, rhythm, interesting line, and unity.

  5. This is not a functional piece, such as a bowl or platter. There should be no readily identifiable forms, such as, animals, faces, or words. You must rely on an abstract presentation of form and texture
