Origins of Close-in Terrestrial Planets: Disk Boundaries, Interactions, and Impact Events

This study aims to understand the formation of close-in terrestrial planets by investigating disk inner boundaries, disk-planet interactions, and giant impact events. It explores the reasons behind the abundance of super-Earths observed via RV techniques and examines why short-period planets are absent in our Solar System while also not evolving into Jupiters. Furthermore, it delves into the preference for close orbits at approximately 0.1 AU, which is greater than the typical semi-major axis of Hot Jupiters. The non-resonant nature of these close-in terrestrial planets is also a point of interest.
