  2. We will talk about: • High School Graduation Requirements • A-G college admission requirements • Upcoming SAT/ACT Dates • Upcoming registration dates for the 2019-2020 school year

High School Graduation Requirements • Social Studies: 30 Credits (World, US History, Gov’t. and Economics • English: 40 Credits • Mathematics: 30 Credits (Must include Math I) • Science: 20 Credits (Life—10, Physical—10) • Foreign Language/Fine Arts: 10 Credits • PE: 20 Credits (PE 9/10) • Health: 5 Credits • Technology: 5 Credits • Electives: 70 Credits • 40 Hours of Community Service • Ethnic Studies Requirement (Current 9th & 10th graders)

  4. A-G College Admission Requirements • A: Two years of (one of world, US and/or Government) • B: Four years of college preparatory English • C: Three years of mathematics • D: Two years of science (Biology, Chemistry or Physics) • E: Two years of a world language • F: One year of Visual/Performing/Fine arts • G: One yearchosen from the “a-f” courses beyond those used to satisfy the requirements above, or courses that have been approved solely in the elective area.

  5. Upcoming ACT/SAT dates at PHS • SAT March 9th., 2019 www.collegeboard.org • ACT April 13th., 2019 www.act.org • Other dates for SAT: May 4th(WHS), June 1th • Other dates for ACT: June 8th

Registration Information • Students received their registration packets on Friday, January 11th during their English class. • Students and parents are to register their classes by using the Student AERIES Portal. Below are the dates: • Upcoming 10th Between Jan14-20 • Upcoming 12th Between Jan 21-27 • Upcoming 11 Between Jan 28-Feb 3

RegistrationInformation • After completing the course selection sheet and inputing courses in AERIES portal, students must turn in the sheet to the Counselors. • Students will meet with the Counselors duringt their English class or US History class the week after they have completed their registration. • Counselors will go over their transcripts and courses to finalized the registration.
