Citizen’s Hose Company No. 1of Dillsburg $3.136 Grant Activity: Flyers in Newspapers twice monthly Result: 0 new firefighters
Conshohocken Fire Company #1 $5,000 Grant Activity: Produced video & promotional flyer Result: 6 new firefighters
Diamond Fire Company of Walnutport $5,000 Grant Activity: Recruitment signs, banners, and flyers obtained and strategically placed in the community; as well as a large sign on Main St. Logo wear for members meeting performance/recruiting duties Result: 2 new firefighters 1 new support members
Flourtown Fire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Developed a video & created and implemented a mentoring program Result: 2 new firefighters 2 new fire police members
Franklintown & CommunityFire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Retention activities involving social events, logo wear and awards for performance Result: Current members were recognized for their service and retained.
Hummel’s WharfFire Department $5,000 Grant Activity: Advertisement via Billboards TV/Radio Newspaper Student First Responder Program Result: 5 new firefighters
Lake HarmonyVolunteer Fire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Expand on program from prior year Provide logo wear for use at promotional events and fundraisers. Result: 2 new firefighters 1 new support member
MillbourneVolunteer Fire Company $5,000 Grant Activity: Design, prepare and print a variety of recruitment materials & retention performance recognition items Result: 4 new firefighters
North Belle VernonVolunteer Fire Company $1,864 Grant Activity: Purchased and installed a lighted public information sign for recruiting new members Result: 6 new firefighters
Rothsville VFC &Fire Department of Mount Joy $10,000 Grant Activity: Sponsored a Countywide cooperative effort advertising for regional recruiting day based on success of Mt. Joy area 2015 grant. 8 Fire companies participated in: Newspaper ads, electronic billboard, radio ad Result: 11 new firefighters 1 new fire police member 3 new support members
United Hook & LadderCompany #33 $5,000 Grant Activity: Created and used brochures, yard signs printed materials Conducted a citizens fire academy Result: 5 new firefighters
2016 FASP Recruitment and Retention Grant Program Summary $75,000 committed in grant money 16 fire/EMS agencies 75 firefighters, 3 fire police and 9 active/support members.
