  3. OUR MISSION IS: To assist congregations in locating and securing pastoral leadership through the Search & Call process To train potential leaders through Leadership Development ministries To resource Youth & Young Adult Ministries as the church of today and tomorrow

  10. Justice and Witness Ministries • Historic lobbying for Marriage Equality • On-going promotion of Open and Affirming Congregations

Justice & Witness Ministries • Attend public hearings and speak with Legislators on Environmental Justice- most recently fracking issues • Advocacy for Just Immigration Legislation • Partner with national setting to gather justice advocates throughout the state to coordinate our efforts and train justice advocates in each of our local settings

  12. Wider Church Ministries$248,187. Commission on Global Church • Encourages contact with missionaries, and partnerships in Nicaragua, South Africa, and Palestine • Promotes “Global Mission’ congregations • Annual “Mission Possible” Retreats

  13. Wider Church Ministries Commission on Ecumenism and Interfaith Relations • Encourages Inter-Faith Dialogue and Middle East Peace Efforts • Supports New York State Council of Churches • Nurtures partnership with Evangelical church of Hessen and Nassau, Germany

  14. Wider Church Ministries NY Help • Provides medical clinics, education opportunities, and community development projects in La Laguna, Honduras • Promotes sustainable harvest project • Visits with work groups twice a year

Wider Church Ministries New York Conference Disaster Response Program • Disaster Response Team (DiRT) is a resource in time of disaster, like Superstorm Sandy • Develops a network of trained disaster coordinators in local churches • Organizes conference-wide drives to assemble disaster relief supplies to send to Church World Service

  21. Covenant Share • Affirms the covenantal relationship between the Conference and the membership • To be fully effective, the budgeted OCWM giving must be realized and • Each member is encouraged to contribute at least $10 to UCC Covenant Share

Our Future • We will continue our level of mission and service • We will be fully staffed with an Associate Conference Minister in each region of the Conference • We will increase our support of the Wider UCC • We will offer financial support to NY Churches for ministry initiatives and Leadership Development
