  1. GPU-accelerated processing of Incoherent Scatter Radar (ISR) data ISR measures ionosphere plasma velocity, density and temperature. Received signals are weak, so coded pulse techniques are often used to maintain range resolution while simultaneously increasing the duration of transmitted pulses. Coded pulse techniques are computationally expensive to process and many ISR facilities are located in remote environments, so GPU accelerators are promising tools for compact, power-efficient and cost-effective processing.   2. Ionosphere modeling ISR and other ionosphere radar facilities cover a small fraction of Earth’s ionosphere, so models are used to estimate the current and future state of the ionosphere. Models are also used to understand the ionosphere response to changing solar and geomagnetic conditions. ARSC develops and runs both 1D and 3D ionosphere models.
