  26. FALL 2007 REPORTFall 2007 Schedule

  27. Fall 2007 Network Trends • 23 new fall shows have debuted so far: 13 dramas, 5 comedies and 5 unscripted (roughly 40 more new shows will launch during the remainder of the season). • Comedies on the rebound... and across all formats (multicam, single-cam & animated) -- despite fewer new comedies than last fall, decent launches for BIG BANG, CAVEMEN, CARPOOLERS with growth from year ago of THE OFFICE, FAMILY GUY, KING OF THE HILL, THE GAME, and EARL holding steady. On average, returning comedies are almost flat from year ago (-3%), while returning dramas are down by double digits ( -13%). • SPT's TIL DEATH is the only FOX live-action series to advance vs. prior season's Thursday average. • New dramedies take hold -- 4 of 13 dramas could be considered dramedies (CHUCK, REAPER, PUSHING DAISIES and BIG SHOTS). At least 3 among these of to a good start. • Reality luke warm so far -- aside from dominant DANCING WITH THE STARS, reality ain't the thing so far. No new unscripted break-out hits (KITCHEN NIGHTMARES just ok, NASHVILLE cancelled, CW's ONLINE NATION and CW NOW dismal), while some returning reality vets suffer hefty declines from year ago (SURVIVOR, EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION, BEAUTY & THE GEEK). • Promising so far: NBC's BIONIC WOMAN, ABC's PRIVATE PRACTICE and PUSHING DAISIES, CW's REAPER. • Challenged so far: FOX's NASHVILLE already pulled from schedule, CW NOW, ONLINE NATION, GOSSIP GIRL, ALIENS IN AMERICA, FOX's K-VILLE and CBS' CANE.
