  2. National Update • The National Executive Board has been supplemented by two “new” Region VPs • Western Region – Russ Johnson • Eastern Region – Brandon Kriner, CPPM CF • Other new Board members include: • VP Administration – Patrice Baker, CPPM CF • VP Finance - Wesley Carter, CPPM CF

  3. National Update Carl J. Iannacone was elected National President He is starting his eleventh consecutive year on the Executive Board, he previously served as Executive VP VP Marketing and Communications Central Region VP

  4. National Update • The NPMA Website • Much improvement has been made with more work to do • Apologies for inconveniences… • Excellent, stable NPMA National Office staff continues to be a great asset • Mark Johnson – new Marketing Manager at the National Office

National Update Accreditation • National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) • Accredits certification organizations who comply with their standards. • Uses a peer review process to establish accreditation standards. • Evaluates compliance with these standards, to recognize organizations/programs which demonstrate compliance. • Serve as a resource on quality certification. • NPMA will be prepared to submit application April 2012

  10. National Update • Fiscal Responsibility • Financial stability and viability a constant focus • The rebuilding of reserves is underway • We ended 2010 - $40,000 to the good

  12. Regional Conferences • We created a Conference Seminar Planning Committee (CSPC) • Help ensure our strategic educational objectives are met while keeping the professional development of our members and guests a priority

CSPS Objectives • Bring more synergy to the regional events • Incorporate changes to bring some freshness to NES and regional events to accomplish- • Increase Attendance • Respond to survey feedback • Get us out of the same old - same old • Oversee the theme planning of the regional events and provide guidance to the host chapters

  14. National UpdateRegions and National Initiative • Foundation Application Process Updated • A simplified, one step/one stop process for members • Goal – reinvest Foundation and other scholarship funding in the members of the association

National Update • Chapter Education (Monthly Content) • An initiative started in the ER to provide an excellent educational presentation in PowerPoint format, developed by a broad and talented cadre of NPMA subject matter experts, sufficient to provide content for every NPMA chapter meeting! • Lack of program content no longer a major concern for Chapter Presidents! This presentation is one such product of this initiative!

  16. National Update • Support the Technical interest Group (TIG) initiative headed by the National Director of SIGs • Each Region sponsored two of the initial six SIGs • SIGs have a key emerging role in the expanding NPMA as providers of educational content and networking activities

National Update on 2011 NES • Ready to go- Program to be posted in April • Over 100 sessions, much scrutiny to speaker apps • American Idol type changes (We have kept what works but there are some fresh changes) • Specific Tracks that go all week • Contract/Contractor; University; Federal; NASASP; Professional Development; Executive/Management • Property Challenge has been revised • More professional development than ever • SIG case study session • More hands on work shops where breakout activities will occur

  21. Closing Thoughts • NPMA is 41 years old! We are hardly middle aged. • Chapters and Chapter meetings are at the heart of NPMA – education, networking, …and friends • It’s your association – the more you put into it, the more you’ll get out of it!
