Australia ㆍProfessional development: Held seminars knowledge exchange ㆍ‘Rain Dance environment sustainability program’ : focusing on water conservation for preschool children at Cranbourne Royal Botanical Gardens in Victoria. ㆍAction research: to revitalise OMEP Aust and to determine strategic direction ㆍKits: Distributing ‘refugee welcoming kits’ and ‘School starter kits’ to needy children. National Activities in ASIA PACIFIC

  4. National Activities in ASIA PACIFIC Hong Kong ㆍSeminars: About “learning Chinese language in early childhood education in a multilingual and multicultural environment”. ㆍPolicy matters: A fight for 15 year free education.

India ㆍTraining and development program: for ECCE teachers on age appropriate development. ㆍOMEP + NAPSE(National Association of Preschool Education) : teamed up for stadardizing infrastructural requirements, childfriendly norms, minimum standards etc. ㆍNaional study: on traditional play and games National Activities in ASIA PACIFIC

  10. National Activities in ASIA PACIFIC Thailand ㆍNational education standard: first started evaluating early childhood care centers for external quality assurance. ㆍWorkshop: preparation for internal and external quality assurance.

  11. International Activities in ASIA PACIFIC China ㆍㆍTeacher exchange program: Collaborating with Hong Kong to create a China-Hong Kong teacher exchange program since 2003 and it is still continued

International Activities in ASIA PACIFIC Japan ㆍJapan Komodo fund International Project: Released English-language report on the situation of ECCE post the Great East Japan Earthquake 2011. ㆍInternational symposium: Education and training preschool teachers for the future, case studies on professional development in Norway and South Korea.

  13. New Zealand ㆍResearch: international research and sharing through academic and professional networks within Pacific region. International Activities in ASIA PACIFIC

  14. Education for Sustainable Development in ASIA PACIFIC China ㆍESD scale development: participated in the project by collecting data in 6 early childhood centers for the pilot scale.

  15. Education for Sustainable Development in ASIA PACIFIC Japan ㆍAcademic workshop: Forum on post-disaster childcare from an ESD perspective, study meetings on ESD and publication on ESD practice in day care centers.

  16. Education for Sustainable Development in ASIA PACIFIC Korea ㆍPart 3. Intergeneraional dialogue for ESD: Executed a project in young children’s classroom with three goals(reducing plastics, creating garden and establishing a network of new friends), 75 children and 7 teachers and 34 grandparents participated in the project.

  18. Education for Sustainable Development in ASIA PACIFIC Thailand ㆍNew preschool curriculum: Integrating ESD concept into the curriculum. ㆍProject: On ECO-School Guide for ESD starting from preschool to secondary education level.

  19. Australia ㆍExtended WASH program: Instituted at Fitzroy Crossing School for Aboriginal children in W.A and WASH was introduced at Crispins kindergarten in Poro, PNG. WASH from the Start in ASIA PACIFIC

  20. India ㆍCelebration of the Global Hand Washing Day: participated through different intiatives, all preschools have sanitation and good health in the curriculum. WASH from the Start in ASIA PACIFIC

  21. WASH from the Start in ASIA PACIFIC Korea ㆍProject: Introducing the purpose and the meaning of WASH project to individual and collective members of Korea and participating in a case study related to WASH was encouraged through online.

  22. WASH from the Start in ASIA PACIFIC New Zealand ㆍProject: Several chapters adopted this project to put into ECE centers.

  23. WASH from the Start in ASIA PACIFIC Pakistan ㆍWASH in school: remained active in its role to enhance professionalism in the WASH in school.

Most Important Task or Priority for 2014 in ASIA PACIFIC ESD ㆍAdvocacy: Continuing advocacy for the government’s agenda ㆍPublic awareness: Gaining more public awareness ㆍResearch: Conducting research to promote early education for Sustainable Development (Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, New Zealand, Thailand)

  26. Most Important Task or Priority for 2014 in ASIA PACIFIC Website ㆍWebsite: Recruiting members and revamping and activating the website to provide up-to-date information and resources (Korea)
