  6. Viewing Art • They believed in beasts such as Dragons, in myths and legends, to explain life’s various phenomena. • They did not have science and technology to explain the unknown. • Today, we no longer need myths and legends to serve the same purpose. Or do we?

Beowulf seized Grendel’s claw with his powerful grip and refused to let go. The battle that ensued battered Hrothgars’s Hall – Herot.
