  4. Goals Increase academic achievement for all students. Provide students and staff with a safe and caring school environment. Recruit, retain, and support effective administrators, teachers, and staff. Provide facilities that are conducive for teaching, and develop a financial plan that accurately reflects system-wide needs. Create an environment of mutual respect, cooperation, and open communication.

Goal 1 Increase academic achievement for all students Objective 1.1: The CTAE director will implement programs that will offer more pathways for high school students by the 2015-2016 school year. Strategy 1.1.1: The CTAE Director will work with principals, state officials and the superintendent, to align the healthcare curriculum to meet state requirements to become a pathway for students by the 2016-2017 school year. Objective 1.2: The high school guidance counselor will develop a process to ensure that all students have a career plan before leaving Stewart County Schools by the 2015-2016 school year. Strategy 1.2.2: The counselor will create a Guidance Plan for the school district during the 2015-2016 school year. Objective 1.3: The superintendent will hire a proven curriculum director by the 2015-2016 school year. Strategy 1.3.3: The superintendent and the human resource department will start the search for a curriculum director in April 2015. Objective 1.4: The College, Career Readiness Index will increase by 2percent during the 2014-2015 school year. Strategy 1.4.4: The superintendent will analyze the CCRPI Data and communicate it to the Board during the 2015-2016 school year. Objective 1:5: A district calendar will be developed to meet the needs of the students. Strategy 1.5.5: The superintendent will work with staff members to determine whether the district has the financial resources to implement a five day school week during the 2015-2016 school year.

  6. Goal 2 Provide students and staff with a safe and caring school environment Objective 2.1: Stewart County Schools will develop and communicate a system Crisis Plan by the 2015-2016 school year. Strategy 2.1.1: A committee lead by the maintenance director will be formed to create a Crisis Intervention Plan. Objective 2.2: Stewart County Schools will review and update discipline plans annually. Strategy 2.2.2: A committee lead by district leaders will be formed to create a system-wide Discipline Plan. Objective 2.3: Stewart County Schools will develop an anti-bullying program will be communicated annually. Strategy 2.3.3: A committee lead by the school counselor will be formed to create an Anti-Bullying Plan. Objective 2.4: The maintenance director will develop a plan to ensure that all buildings are secured each day. Strategy 2.4.4: A committee lead by the maintenance director will be formed to create a Safety Plan for the School District.

  7. Goal 3 Recruit, retain, and support effective administrators, teachers, and staff. Objective 3.1: The Title II-A director will write and communicate a Teacher Retention Plan during the 2014-2015 school year. Strategy 3.1.1: A committee lead by the Title IIA director will be formed to create a Retention Plan. Objective 3.2: The District Office will plan and implement a new teacher orientation and induction program during the 2015-2016 school year. Strategy 3.2.2: A committee lead by the human coordinator will be formed to plan new teacher orientation and induction. Objective 3.3: The human resource department will ensure that all new staff members meet all state and federal requirements to be highly qualified. Strategy 3.3.3: The human resource coordinator will examine the teaching certificates of all candidates before they are approved by the Board. Objective 3.4: The superintendent will ensure that all employees receive an annual evaluation during the 2014-2015 school year. Strategy 3.4.4: A copy of all annual evaluations will be reviewed by the human resource coordinator and the superintendent to ensure that all staff members have been evaluated.

Goal 4 Provide facilities that are conducive for teaching, and develop a financial plan that accurately reflects system-wide needs, Objective 4.1: The superintendent will work with state officials and the school board to develop a five year Facility Plan by March 2015. Strategy 4.1.1: The superintendent will collaborate with state and local officials to formulate a five year Facility Plan. Objective 4.2: The maintenance director will conduct a needs assessment in each building annually beginning September 2014. Strategy 4.2.2: The maintenance director will check each building daily to address the needs of the facilities. Objective 4.3: The superintendent will implement a systematic budget development process that includes examining school needs, state compensations, and input from principals, directors, and supervisors during the 2014-2015 school year. Strategy 4.3.3: The superintendent will form a budget committee.

  9. Goal 5 Create an environment of mutual respect, cooperation, and open communication. Objective 5.1: The Stewart County School Board, superintendent, and all school system employees will work to improve relationships and trust between the school system and community. Strategy 5.1.1: The superintendent will attend local meetings and events. Objective 5.2: Principals and teachers will increase opportunities to involve parents in the education of their children during the 2014-2015 school year. Strategy 5.2.2: The high school principal and the counselor will schedule individual meetings with parents who have seniors. The superintendent will form a parent advisory council. The teachers, principals, and district staff will continue to plan stakeholders meetings. Objective 5.3: The School Board and superintendent will expand meaningful partnerships with business, higher education, and community organizations which benefit our students, teachers, and schools during the 2014-2015 school year. Strategy 5.3.3 The superintendent will involve community leaders and business owners in various activities throughout the district. The superintendent will develop relationships with Georgia Southwestern University and Columbus State University.
