  2. The Atmosphere • Uranus’s atmosphere has a turquoise appearance • Made up of 82.5% molecular hydrogen • 15.2% Helium • 2.3% Methane

  3. Surface • Uranus is basically a ball of ice and gas • Anything that lands on the surface would sink through the upper atmosphere into the icy center.

  9. 15 facts: • Uranus has been visited once by Voyager 2 on Jan.24,1986 • It is the 3rd gas giant planet • Discovered on March 13, 1781 • Uranus’s axis is tilted 97 degrees • First planet discovered in the modern age • Almost twice the distance from the sun than Saturn is • Takes 17 hours to spin on its axis • Almost all of its moons were named after Shakespearean characters • In many Asian languages “Uranus” is translated into “Sky king star” • It is the second least dense planet after Saturn
