Interreg Project ARBOR What project promoters cannot ignore about INTERREG IVB NWE project management Accelerating Renewable energies through valorisation of Biogenec Raw materials ‘Improving sustainable biomass utilisation in North West Europe’ (Verbeteren van duurzaam gebruik van biomassa in NWE’)

ARBOR: • 13 Partners in 6 landen in Noor West Europa: NL (ook Universiteit Wageningen en DLV Plant), BE, UK, IR, DL, LU • Strategic initiative (= extra geld) • Totaal budget: 7,3 milj. euro (Utrecht: 1 milj) (50% co-financiering) • Lead Partner: Staffordshire University • Looptijd project: sept 2009 - sept 2015

ARBOR: verbeteren duurzaam gebruik van biomassa in NWE • Pyrolyse installatie bouwen (UK) • Meten energie-inhoud biomassa (UK) • Nutrientwinning uit digestaat (BE, DE) • Modellering (Lux) • Innovatieve technieken in de landbouw • (Wageningen en DLV Plant) • Bermgras, droogvergisten, biogashub (PU) • enz

  4. Wat gaat PU doen? • Inzamelstructuur voor Bermgras?? • Nieuwe techniek: droogvergisten bij composteerinrichtingen • Biogas  Groengas + injectie in aardgasnet • Verschillende aanbieders biogas aansluiten op biogashub  gezamenlijke opwerking + injectie

  5. 1) Inzamelstructuur voor Bermgras • - Benutting ‘afvalproduct’ voor energie • - Verwerking tot energie is lastig • - Hoge kosten inzameling en vervoer • - Veel verschillende “eigenaren”

  6. 2) Droogvergisten Compulsory For the 2007-2013 programming period • - Innovatie • - Bij composteerinrichtingen • - Bermgras, bladafval, snoeimateriaal enz • (‘afval’ van overheden) • - Optimale benutting groenafval • - Minder geur, betere kwaliteit compost

  7. 3) Biogas  Groengas • Voorkeursvolgorde benutting biogas: • Warmte (zwembad, verzorgingshuis) • Brandstof (auto’s, bussen ed) • Elektriciteit en warmte (≥ 70% benut) • Groengas invoeding aardgasnet • Elektriciteit en warmte (≤70% benut)

  8. 4) Biogashubs • Waarom? • Beperkingen in het lokale aardgasnet • Aanleg biogasleiding duur • Opwerken biogas  groengas duur • Aansluitingskosten hoog • Gedeelde kosten maken groengas projecten sneller rendabel

  12. Wat kunnen gemeenten doen? • Ruimte bieden aan vergistingsinitiatieven • Meedenken over benutting biogas • Rijden op groengas (auto’s, tankstation) • Duurzaam aanbesteden (groenbeheer, wegbeheer, ov, projectontwikkeling)
