  3. Introduction: A phonics journey... Introduce yourself to your partner or group… and say one thing you know about phonics

  4. Phonics is... • the relationship between the spoken and written language • sound-spellingpatterns • the Alphabetic Code • alternative spellings for the same phonemes • ‘tricky’ words (words that don’t follow the patterns)
