Learning at home 25.10.13 Phonics • In phonics last week: • We learnt how to recognise and write the letters • In phonics this week: • We learnt to recognise and write these letters • We have been writing simple words such as bat fog hot and we have been learning how to write a caption e.g. a fat rat • Over the holidays can you keep practising letter formation and name writing. Please encourage your child to always start each letter on the line and think about the size of each letter. • Here are some of the things that we are practising in our maths lessons.: • Counting forwards in ones from a number between 0 and 20. • Counting backwards in ones from 10 to 0 and 20-0. • Counting from a larger group (e.g. taking 7 seeds from a pile of seeds and checking we have the correct amount. • Finding one more or one less than a group of objects • Saying one more or one less than numbers between 1-10 b h r f l ff ll Maths
