  3. Common Sense (Pamphlet) Common Sense was written by Thomas Paine to convince colonist that are undecided to join the “Americans”.

  4. Boston Massacre The Boston Massacre started with teasing then with a snowball fight. After the snowball was thrown the British Soldiers fired back at the rebellious colonist.

  5. Battle of Lexington and Concord This battle is usually called “The shot heard around the world”. It was the start of the Revolutionary War. Nobody knows who shot the first shot. The British won Lexington but lost Concord.

  6. Battle of Bunker Hill (aka Battle of Breeds Hill) The Battle of Bunker Hill was really on Breeds Hill. General Putnam saw Breeds Hill and Bunker Hill and said he wanted to build a fort on top of Breeds Hill. General Howe saw the fort on top the hill and wanted to take it so he Commanded his troops to run on the hill and take the fort. They did not succeed.

  7. Declaration of Independence The Declaration of Independence was drafted by Thomas Jefferson. It was made to state that the patriots were declaring Independence.

  10. Battle of Trenton The Battle of Trenten was when General Washington decided to attack the Germany Hessian and make a dent in the war. In order to win the battle they attacked on Christmas morning after crossing the Delaware river.

  11. Battle of Saratoga The Battle of Saratoga was the turning point of the war. The world thought that they were a joke an would be beaten by the British. After the battle of Saratoga the world changed their mind. When the French heard this they joined the war because they did not like the British.

  12. The Trap at Yorktown The British were tired and retreated to Yorktown where they got cornered by the “Americans” and their ally's the French. They had about 16,000 troops and 29 French war ships to cut off the navy help.

  13. The Treaty of Paris The Treaty of Paris was a document that stated the Americans are now their own country. The Americans had to give back the land to the loyalist. The British gave up there claim for the Atlantic ocean to the Mississippi River and Canada south to Florida.
