  • Nebraska has a very funny nickname. Its nickname is the Beef State. The region is the Midwest.

  • The Capital City is Lincoln. There are three major cities. Here are there names.

  • Norfolk

  • Ferment and

  • Grand Island.

    Every state has a population. Nebraska’s population is 1,842,641.

  • The state bird is called the Western Meadowlark. The state tree is called the cottonwood.

  • Nebraska has 6 borders. South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Iowa. They have the chimney rock, deserts and sand hills.

  • Later improvements in irrigation made it easier for farmers to water their crops. Farms were able to expand into new areas of Nebraska that before wouldn’t sustain crops.

  • Nebraska became a state in 1867.

  • By 1864 Nebraska’s population had boomed to almost 123,000 people. It used to be 1,842,641

  • The First Arbor day was celebrated in 1872 .

  • Buffalo Bill Cody started the first rodeo show in North Platte in 1882.
