  3. Observation of fish ponds and ecology of this habitat explained

  4. Gei Wai shrimp ponds – a tradition but environmentally friendly way to grow and harvest shrimps; these plants provide the food for the shrimps

  5. The wetland provides a wonderful place for residence of the migratory birds and local species; mud flats have been built to provide landing sites for the birds

  6. The willow field; urban development of Sheungzhen is threatening the natural habitat

  7. Plants grown on the pond bank have been cleared; the micro-habitat created by those plants are thus destroyed

  8. Mangrove plants – students were asked to identify various species of mangrove plants with special adaptations to mangrove ecology

  9. We walked through the mangroves along the floating boardwalk to see the mudflats of inner Deep Bay, which is the main feeding sites of the migratory birds Young seedlings of mangrove plants in mudflat
