  2. BACKGROUND • Municipal Code calls for a statistical report on City procurement. • In 2011, the City made purchases totaling: $88,840,406

  3. City Departments Statistical Information • Contract and procurement opportunities secured by Pasadena businesses was $8,930,835 (or 11%). • Procurement opportunities secured by WMBE was $9,776,630 (or 12%).

  4. City Departments Procurement History *2009 expenditures exclude the construction of the Water and Power yards office building/warehouse renovation project, and the Department of Transportation operation of the Pasadena Area Rapid Transit System (ARTS) Dial-A-Ride services for a total of $43 million.

  5. Pasadena First Buy Local Pasadena First Buy Local approved by Council 2010 • Continuing work to increase communication between Pasadena businesses and City departments.

  6. Pasadena First Buy Local Pasadena First Buy Local approved by Council in 2010 • Rose Bowl Renovation Project • An additional 102 Pasadena businesses were registered in the City’s bid notification system in 2011 which is an increase of 21%.

Pasadena First Buy Local Ongoing Outreach Efforts • Successful Facilitation Local Participation Plan for the Rose Bowl Renovation Project • All deliverables satisfied in first six months • 82 Pasadena Residents Hired ($356,792 wages) • $6.4 million in Subcontracting and Procurement • Grand Total: $6.8 million in Local Benefit

  9. Regional Input Output Modeling System Estimated Local Impact • According to Department of Commerce RIMS II formula, an estimated 232 jobs were sustained or created by local contracting and purchasing.

  10. Pasadena First Buy Local Ongoing Outreach Efforts • Opportunity Fair Facilitated for the Rose Bowl Renovation Project • CalCon Expo 2011 • Annual Business Showcase (hosted by Pasadena Chamber of Commerce)
