  1. summary of ILDG status and activities this year • ILDG continues stable operation and is working as a useful research infrastructure (as seen in site reports) • activities (on-going/planed) to improve/enhance regional grids (as seen in RG reports) • got some new resources (man power, disks) in several RG • SRM interface of UKQCD • Grid/ILDG interface of NERSC gauge connection in USQCD • daily data sharing in JLDG • .... • ILDG paper completed and submitted to J. Grid Computing • little progress on propagator sharing • (almost) no action to invite new groups / counties • invited three (small) research groups in US, Japan, Canada to ILDG as users Discussions

  2. future direction of ILDG • no my idea at this moment • to be discussed at this workshop • action plan for next (half) year • restart (and hopefully complete) works on propagator sharing • inviting new groups / countries • but how? write invitation letters to major groups by the name of ILDG board ? • any other action plan ?

  3. how to organize future workshops • progress of ILDG is not so fast, compared to previous years • probably because, ILDG is working as a completed and stable system • worth continuing biannual video workshops of this style ? • got suggestions that future workshops are better to focus more on physics progress (I agree) • on the other hand, I’m not sure whether 3 hour video workshop is suitable for reports/discussions on physics. • it may also be true that, getting together biannually is worth to understand status with each other, even if progress is not much

  4. how to organize future workshops(cont.) • propose a combination of biannual progress report and (annual) face-to-face workshop on physics • board, two working groups and regional grids write short summary reports of their activities biannually and post them to the ILDG web page • workshop mainly for physics (some of them will be outputs of ILDG usage), combined with grid session (can be operated as a video session) an image of the workshop: CCS workshop on “Perspectives on Light Quark Simulations through Machine, Algorithm and ILDG “March, 2009 • if you agree, I’ll arrange conveners for the first workshop

  5. appointment of Chair for 2010 • if we follow previous cycle, a candidate is the representative of the USQCD grid. • date of next workshop • (if we continue biannual video workshop) • candidates are: • Friday 4th June 2010 • Friday 11th June 2010 • Friday 28th May 2010 Other Business
