Book of the Month: Contributions to the Field NON-NEOPLASTIC HEMATOPATHOLOGY AND INFECTIONS, 1th Edition, Wiley Blackwell By: Hernani Cualing, MD, Parul Bhargava MD, and Ramon Sandin, MD About the USF Health Authors Dr. Cualing joined the faculty of USF Cell Biology and Pathology in 2002 and in 2008. He received his MD from the University of the Philippines Medical School, and completed his Surgical Pathology Residency/Fellowship and Hematopathology Fellowship in Stony Brook NCMC Affiliate and Indiana University Medical Center,respectively. Dr. Cualing went on to be Surgical Pathology and Hematopathology Faculty at University of Cincinnati before becoming a Joint Associate Professor and Member of USF and Moffiitt Cancer Center in 2002. He is currently President of a Histopathology labororatory-IHCFLOW at Lutz, Florida specializing in Neoplastic and NonNeoplastic Hematopathology, Image Analysis and Cutaneous Lymphomas. Among past academic appointments, he was the former director of Hematopathology Fellowship Training Program of USF/MCC. He is the recipient of several awards, including Biomedical Engineering Grants, Best Teacher of the Year, Mentored Papers, Outstanding Alumni Award from his Alma Mater, and Stratmore and Marquis WHOs-WHO. He was also advisor on Cutaneous Lymphomas for Eisai and Panelist of NSF /SBIR. He was also recipient of USPTO patents on VirtualFlow Imaging. Dr. Cualing served as course director of Cutaneous Lymphoma Seminars and Hematopathology Residents Lecture Series. He continues collaborative work at USF and MCC with residents, faculty, and fellows as well as consultancy for national laboratories on hematopathology and applications of digital pathology virtual flow cytometry and hematometrics.
