  3. New actions • Retinoblastoma Day • Latin american meetings • Qualify pediatricians and neonatologists to fundoscopy • RetCam for follow up and discussions

Results • Number of cases diagnosed through the campaign in all country – 60 (not all cases reported to us) • Other ocular diseases diagnosed through the campaign: retinopaty of prematury, familial exudative vitreoretinopathy, cataract, ocular toxocariasis, toxoplasmosis, Coat’s disease • Prevention of Blindness in childhood

  5. Problems for the treatment of Rb in Mexico • Delayed diagnosis • No national Register available • Treatment • Economic and material resources

  6. Delayed Diagnosis • Mean time from first symptoms –as referred by parents- to first diagnosis: • Early stages =7.4 months • Advanced stages = 13.1 months

  7. It can take more than one year to diagnose Retinoblastoma in a child.

  8. There are no enough centers
