  2. How We Got Here • Long fueling lines at peak hours • Limited fueling capacity (~20,000 gallons) • Relocation of Fleet Maintenance Operations • Rapid growth • Fuel usage projected to increase by 7% • Rocky Mountain Fleet Management Association

  3. Project Summary • Total construction $410,000 • Facility renovations $45,000 • New facility construction $365,000 • 120 days to construct • Increases fuel capacity by 30,000 gallons • First city in Pinal County to offer joint fueling facility

  4. Current Fueling Station • 10,000 gallons unleaded • 10,000 gallons diesel • 4 fuel dispensers • 4 total fill nozzles • Unleaded/diesel

  5. New Joint Use Fueling Station • 15,000 gallons unleaded • 15,000 gallons diesel • 4 fuel dispensers • 8 total fill nozzles • Unleaded/diesel initially • Capability for 2 additional fuel types • Future expansion built-in for 2 dispensers/4 fill nozzles and 2 tanks (~15,000 gallons each)

  6. Combined Fueling Capacity • 25,000 gallons unleaded • (150% increase) • 25,000 gallons diesel • (150% increase) • 12 fill nozzles • (300% increase)

  7. Potential Fueling Partners • ADOT • AZ Department of Public Safety • Casa Grande Elementary School • Casa Grande Union High School • Central Arizona College • Pinal County • United States Border Patrol

Project Benefits • Doubling fueling station locations • New fuel station is closer to Operations Center • Decreases windshield time • Decreases emissions • Lower cost per gallon – bulk commodity discount • Self supporting operation • Revenue generation of $.10 to $.15/ gallon • Contingency fueling resource • Relationship building opportunities with other entities

  9. Project Challenges • Reconciliation of fuel sales • Report customization • Interfacing software with outside entities systems requirements • Construction errors

  10. Next Steps • Complete IGA’s with fueling partners • Establish accounting/reconciling procedures • Open for business September 1, 2007 • Expand fueling capacity as needed
