  1. “Survival: Its never Easy. Its never impossible” Fact: 1 million babies dying every year, due to lack of proper neonatal care. Solution : Child Nurseries. An effective solution to a grave problem, within the reach of the masses.

  3. “Lincoln studied under Street lamps and became president of USA, we don’t have street lights either.” Fact: 2 billion people have no access to electricity forcing people to use expensive kerosene lamps or light indoor fires. Indoor air pollution causes 1.6 million deaths every year, a death every 20 seconds.

  4. “Divine intervention…A simple bright alternative , if only we look up.” Fact: In one hour the earth receives more energy from the sun than the world uses in a whole year. Solution: Harnessing Solar energy.

  5. Solar Lanterns : Fighting Global Poverty and Climate change. Sale brings much needed income, usage reduces deadly fumes and carbon emissions. A win-win solution.

  6. “Building a brighter future” Yes, solar lanterns also allow men, women and children to learn how to read. Isn't it amazing that such simple technology can bring so much good.

  9. “The sweetest perfume is CLEAN AIR” Solution : Straw-Stripper. Not only alleviates the harmful effects of fire but also provides fodder for cattle.

  10. “In addition to having a major impact on poverty and hunger, biotechnology has great potential to alleviate environmental degradation” Fact: Food shortage has always been a problem now. Solution: Bio-Engineering. Developing newer species/plants which have higher productivity.

  11. “As long as there's a few farmers out there, we'll keep fighting for them.” These hybrid plants provide 1.5 times cotton at half the cost. Resulting in better returns for the poor farmers.

  12. “Of course, screening for HIV did essentially eliminate the transmission of this virus by transfusions.” Fact: Every day, nearly 7,500 people are infected with HIV and 5,500 die from AIDS. The National(India) Aids Control Programme provided Rs.993 crore for the year 2008-09 . Solution: There is no cure, only prevention.
