  3. Measuring • Mass is the amount of matter in an object • Triple-beam balance • Grams/Kilograms • Weight is how hard gravity is pulling on an object • Spring scale • Newtons

  4. Gravity • All objects exert gravity • Gravity is a weak force • Planets with greater mass exert more gravity (pull harder on objects) • Gravity pulls toward the center of a planet • Weight is a measure of how hard gravity is pulling on an object.
