  2. Module Outline • Module 8 includes: • Guidance on serving as a CED application review panel chairperson • Coordinating panel participation • Completing panel summary reports • Best practices

Coordinating Panel Participation • Manage timeline of the review process to ensure reviews are completed on schedule • Establish and implement a schedule for panel discussions on application strengths and weaknesses • Ensure panel members participate fully in the review process • Coordinate and work with PAMs and Team WilDon as appropriate. • Be responsive to all involved parties

Completing Panel Summary Reports • Panel summary reports must be completed in the ARM system for each application • Summary reports should be thorough and provide as much detail as is required to justify the scores provided • Prior to writing reports, ensure panel members’ scores are reasonably close to one another • Work with PAM to finalize summary reports as appropriate

  5. PAMs will Reject a Report if… • The scores are not justified by the comments • A criterion with a zero score has a listed strength • A criterion with a perfect score has a listed weakness • Scores are widely divergent • Scores are always exactly the same • Scores are always all or nothing (the panel is not using the full range of points)

  6. Things to Watch Out For • Uncooperative reviewers • Incorrect page numbers • Unproductive panel calls • Inconsistent scores • Incorrect grammar and  misspellings in comments • Lack of communication among panel members • Issues with ARM system

  7. Best Practices • Keep to the schedule • Stay organized and finish strong! • Be aware of and deal with conflict early • Stay accessible to your panel and your PAM • Check-in with your PAM daily • Remind your panel they are only finished when the final Panel Summary Report is approved by your PAM
