  2. Also Know as the African Sleeping sickness. • Trypanosmes Appear in ones peripheral Blood Approximately 5-21 days after the infectious bite. • It is considered a Parasitic Protest • The Tsetse Fly is the deadly Critter that carries the Protist.

  3. Tsetse Fly • This Fly is what carrier the sickness and bites its unsuspecting victims. • There are over 22 types of this fly and all scrictly feed on Blood • Breed by Rivers and streams

  4. Large Differences in Hosts • Features a unique and notable variable surface glycoprotein (VSG) coat in order to avoid the host's immune system. • Undergoes complex Changes from the insect gut to the mammalian bloodstream.

  5. Effects -_- • Fever • Rash • Edema • Swollen Lymphnodes on neck • Personality Change • Weight loss • Irritability • Loss of Focus • Confusion • Slurred Speech • Seizures! • Difficulty Walking

  6. Effects Continued • Sleeping all hours of the day • Insomnia • If left untreated Death will occur as soon as weeks but definetely within months!!

Deadly Protist • Trypanosoma Brucei is very deadly and worst of all there is no vaccine or cure. • The only way to prevent from getting infected is being safe and wearing protective clothing to ensure you wont get bitten • Doctors all over are still researching and trying to find a vaccine.. And still have nothing.
