Some Points to Be Determined • 15.4 MAC modes to be operated • Beacon enabled mode or non-beacon enabled mode • In which mode is a proposed routing able to be operated? • Need to be defined • Intervals for Hello frames, etc. • Device (or node) deployment scenario • Network size • Number of nodes • Transmit power (or range) • Traffic distribution time • Deployment method (random or grid) • Simulation time • For how much time can simulation results be obtained?

Possible Metrics (1) • Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) • The fraction of application level data packets sent that are actually received at the respective destination node. • Packet Overhead • The number of transmissions of routing packets; for example, a reply packet for routing sent over three hops would count as three overhead packets in this metric. • Byte Overhead • The number of transmissions of overhead (non-data) bytes, counting each hop as above.

  4. Possible Metrics (2) • Mean Latency • The average time elapsed from when a data packet is first sent to when it is first received at its destination. • 99.99th Percentile Latency • Computed as the 99.99th percentile of the packet delivery latency. • Path Optimality • Compares the length of routes used to the optimal (minimum possible) hop length as determined by an off-line omniscient algorithm, based on the nominal wireless transmission range of 250 m per hop. • Construction time • Computed as time to establish a route. • The Tg10 group will decide whether association time will be included in this time.
